We have become a society where detachment from one another has the norm.
Businesses create methods of barriers upon barriers that make communicating with the people they serve.
We have slowly automated everything.
Self check out saves the business money at the cost of human connection.
Automated phone systems with barrier upon barrier of getting through to a human.
People texting people in the room next door.
Teachers quitting because they can’t get their students to put away their cell phones.
In many ways, this technology is like a live experiment. How will our children’s longevity and health be affected by all the screen time they experience before even graduating high school? What will happen to their communication skills as they grow accustomed to this one-dimensional way of living?
Idk. These are rhetorical questions I am asking myself.
And. I make a vow to you that when you interact with my brand, I will not isolate and hide behind a convoluted system of walls and...
Originally written during the "in between time" of Christmas / New Year holidays. Still relevant no matter what time of year you find yourself reading this.
This in-between time.
Some of us coast and chill our way through.
Others of us plant the seeds to ensure a stellar and impactful next year.
At every turn, every time we are at a choice point. Which road? Which choice? What option?
Is there a right or wrong?
What if?
Can you feel it?!
Depending upon a variety of influencing factors, there’s an aspect wanting to come forth to make the next choice.
Is there a right or wrong?
Personally, I don’t think so. The choice made results in a consequence and a learning experience for how we can do it differently next time.
What are you choosing to do in this in-between time? Who is knocking on your heart’s door wanting to be let loose? Will you answer? Yes? When? Now? After the calendar has turned the page into 2023?
I believe when we desire...
How comfortable are you with the Edge? The edge of where you are while you look at where you really want to be?
Does your tummy rumble with that excited fear of knowing you're about to step into something super exciting and desirable? knowing you have finally mustered up the courage to take a chance on yourself?
Or does it tumble out of control with huge amounts of paralyzing fear?
If the first option, I congratulate you on being brave enough to step into the Unknown.
If the second, I encourage you to close your eyes, pick up your foot and take a chance on yourself. Believe in yourself enough to do something that somewhere very deep within yourself you want This - whatever This is for you. You would not have the Desire if it was not planted there by God/Universe/Creator, your very Soul.
We all want More. We all want Better. The More and the Better just changes depending on what Edge we are standing on.
One day you'll find yourself looking back at one of those Edges and wonder why...
My arm had swollen to the point of alarm. Skin was taut and it itched like crazy.
I’d been stung by a bee.
I tried many things, but nothing was giving me relief!
There is irony in the term “hive mind.” I went to my Facebook hive mind and showed them my arm asking for help.
The best remedy my body and that sting responded to was a water and baking soda paste. I put a bit of gauze over it, wrapped it up and went to bed. After about 5 hours I woke, removed it and went back to bed. I slept another 5 hours. I think the poison made me tired! I did this for one more day and by the end of day 4 it is barely noticeable. I am so grateful, as my research had stated symptoms may last 7 - 30 days!
Note to self: when you go away to the Northwoods, bring baking soda just in case!
Sometimes we need to ask for help.
Sometimes what once worked suddenly doesn’t.
Sometimes allowing vulnerability is what is required while at the same time not easy.
What are you trying to work...
We all wear hats. All different shapes and sizes, colors and materials. Some suit us, some don’t. Some fit ok and some make us shine. Some worked once upon a time, but now we are so comfortable with them hanging around, it has never occurred to us to let them go.
Some hats overlap with others. You might find yourself trying to pull your roles apart and you know what? They are so entangled you can’t.
I participated in a three day virtual retreat last week. A good portion was dedicated to six hats of the Entrepreneur. It highlighted what hats I shine in wearing and what hats I just as soon toss in the trash.
Some hats are necessary to wear but they constrict and bite and are uncomfortable.
==> Are you following a path wearing the wrong hat?
==> Or wearing a hat that fits great but no longer suits you?
==> Do you recognize which hats make you shine the brightest?
Are you weary of all the hats in your closet and wandering down the path looking for a hat that is...
Waking up to your own Self is not always peaches and cream, but rather it can be a hot mess. It's messy, ugly, painful. And it's yours. No right. No wrong. It's yours.
Go beyond the lines. That's where your Awakening is.
Episode 4. How do you get to the place of Authentic Grace? What are the steps? How do you know when you are "there"? Are you ever there?
